The Model 81 had a small 13/16″or 81/100s” venturi and was standard equipment on the 1937 and 1938 fords. This carb was very popular with the midget racers using the V8 60. It was not produced in large amounts and is a very sort after carburetor that flowed about 125 cfm and makes a great hot rod carb for small inch motors and hopped up Model A, B Fords, V8 60’s and V8’s using 6 or 8 carburetors.
Built to original Stromberg blueprint specification, with key improvements, Black lacquered cast iron base, Factory-set brass float, made in the USA on original dies, Reinforced airhorn lid eliminates leaks, A big 97 and all the other correct markings, Twin-ball S-jet inlet valve, High tech cellulose/nitrile gaskets, 162 cfm out of the box Stock original (sea level) Stromberg jetting – 0.045 main jets and a Number 65 power valve.
Cable Choke please note: You can use the cable choke option on the centre carburetor of a 3×2 set, but tight carb spacing usually means that the cable mounting bracket is best mounted on the rear carburetor and the cable brought forward to the center carburetor. The system works best with an early Ford style wire choke, which pushes and pulls from the dashboard control. If you use a more flexible cable, you may also need a choke return spring.
Vacuum Port Base 97: A compatible distributor will only need vacuum from one carburetor (Not compatible with the 1949-53 Ford flathead Loadomatic distributor)
